How Amateur Radio Magazine announced the beginning of WWII, in its October 1939 edition. Note the suspension of all experimental licences (Amateur Licences) for the duration of the war. During the 5 years of WWII, amateurs were not allowed to transmit and much of their equipment handed in to the authorities to prevent it being used.
